I'm having the whole boat restriped and renamed. The graphics fellow charges $75 per hour plus materials. If I can save a couple of hundred that's great. If I am going to do more harm than good it may very well be worth the extra money.

TIA

Interesting that you're re-striping the boat -- I'm taking the stripes off mine to update the look. All the stripes through the portlights and the 330 arrow stripe are coming off -- I'll keep the Sundancer logo below the arch.

HMMMMM! Don't want to completely hijack this thread. I'm going to start a new post on the Sea Ray forum. See you there.

Divedaddy,

Are you taking ALL the striping off or leaving the boot stripe?

What about the 330 on each side and the SR emblem starboard aft?

I need to rethink this. It could change a lot for me.

I know for sure the SR emblem starboard aft is coming off. The 330 tags are pitted. They are $55 each from the local SR dealer so they may go as well.

The Sundancer emblems are pitted and faded so those are going. Their replacement depends on the color availibility.

Just a name and homeport. No other distinguishing markings. That might work. Would definitely be cheaper.

HMMMMMM!

David,

Mine aren't so pitted, but they look very dated. The stripe between the portlights on the port side is missing. As I looked around I decided that the striped look is out of date. Rather than replace the stripes I am taking them off, along with the 330 arrow-like stripe on either side. The only thing I will keep on the sides is the Sundancer sunburst. On the stern, I'll keep the little 330 graphic, so long as it lasts.

Oh and the bootstripe, that will stay on for at least another year until I do the bottom again.

I am hauling next week. She sat on the hard most of last summer after the errant log whack and I never really got her into shape after that. As long as she's out, I may as well get her all done at once.

Kida... to remove the name from the transom took about 1.5 hours including washing the area after removal. Answer to your question in the previous post on ask the captain....
