I met a real professional last week...Al Prisco!
After all the heartache with damage from Sandy, and finally getting the boat repaired, I was anxious about the survey for insurance.
I chose the right guy and Al calmed my anxiety. He was quite thorough, the consummate professional, and in spite of the blazing heat, climbed about, over and under, inside and out. My boat is a 1978 Burns Craft, and Al suggested that we contact someone who offers "classic" boat insurance...something I never even thought of. Bingo! What a great suggestion, and, by the way, it turns out to be MUCH less expensive than what we had for the past 20 years. I need to point out that when Al suggested that I try "classic" insurance, I asked if he had a suggestion of who offered it. The measure of the man...he said it would not be right for him to offer names, and that maintains his integrity. Class act, Al. We got the survey, and as he indicated right up front, there were some things that needed attending to. They will be, and we have already gotten a commitment for a policy.
