Cranks fine and idles well at first. When I throttle down, it will run fine and plane out for about 200-300 yards, then the motor starts bogging, skipping until it slows to a crawl - with my throttle still fully pushed down.

I can then take it out of gear and give it gas, and the motor revs up perfectly. Back into gear, and push the throttle down, and it begins to bog again. Eventually, after this, @ idle speed - it's hard to keep it running smoothly. In other words, it dies - although it will fire right back up.

Here's the kicker! - when the engine bogs down at full throttle, I can push in the electric choke and it's like someone slaps the boat in the butt with a board! It all of a sudden revs up fine with this choke in. Let out the choke, and it begins to bog again.

Any ideas?

thanks to anyone
