I don't have a cruiser anymore and would like to spend few days on the delta. It's been several years and I really miss it but I'm not in a position to just go out and buy another boat to just scratch an itch. Anyone know of a good place to rent a houseboat or cruiser on the delta? I want something decent, not a 1972 Winabago with an outboard motor on the back...if you know what I mean:-)

I think Paradise Point is the only one left. Not sure what they have. You may be stuck with a 1972 Winnabago on a barge.

But look on the bright side. You can always tie up at Mayberry and blend in with the rest of the crowd.

I've considered buying another boat (34-40')but I'm worried about resale. I usually only keep toys a few years and with things such as they are (gas prices), I'm concerned I wouldn't be able to get rid of it when I'm done. I see boats on the market that sit there for months, even years for sale so I thought renting might be a better choice for someone like me. It seems like there's not much available for rent however.
Thanks for the input.

FB, you know I'm only joking.;) But birdog if you're in the market for a boat and you intend on keeping it, there are some screaming deals out there. I've seen some newer boats in the range that you are looking for be on the market for 2-3 years and drop about $50K from what they initially asked. And I'll bet you can get them down even more depending on how desperate they are to sell.

If you're good at fixing things up you can buy a rental houseboat for real cheap. My neighbor in the slip next to me bought a 55 ft rental boat from Walnut Grove and with a lot of work, he's made it look real nice.

I drove out to King Island about 3 weeks ago, and I'm pretty sure they have decent looking houseboats for rent - not positive, but pretty sure...
