How much trim is too much trim?

I do not have a trim up switch that works and have to use the trailor switch. I want to make sure I am not hurting the outdrive. I trim up for about one to two seconds. I never hear the prop sucking air..I have done that a few times to make sure I know how far that is. I have a good rooster tail and water is splashing far away from the boat. Does this sound ok?
