While doing a little fishing on the bay with my cousin, out of nowhere a bird started hovering about 20 feet above my boat. Then as we cast, the bird flew after the bait and dove ino the water after it! We thought it was funny until it took off with the hook in its mouth! I didn't want to rip the beak off of the bird so I let my line out... after a nerve-racking 10-12 seconds, the bird dropped the bait & hook. Has anyone experienced this? He hung around for a good 20 minutes... What do you do besides wait it out?
