Love how sherif says they took a class to rent the boat, I bet the word anchor wasn’t mentioned once. And who rents boats to people without the anchor line attached to the boat anyway.
 
You would have hoped at least one of the three would have a little common sense....
 
I saw this one - I am speechless. This just takes it to a new level, hate two people lost their lives. I wish people like this wore a special hat or something so we would know to avoid them.
 
I tend to write it off as "no exposure" to the planned activity. People don't realize how fast a boat can drift. People hike in places and conditions they don't understand. People swim in high surf thinking it will be fun to ride the waves not knowning about undertows. People surf fish and tie short stringers of bloody fish close to the body. The list is endless and grows as people watch videos and want some "adventure" in their own life. I've got the money and it will be fun mentality prevails It's why there are warning signs not to drink the battery acid.
 
1) you let your girlfriend set the anchor, is there no chivalry?
2) I can understand the inexperience to not realize the boat would drift, many non-boaters just don't get it
3) not being a strong swimmer and you jump in? without a floatable to help?

SMH, very sad.
 
didn’t understand how to anchor? It’s as if google is’t a thing.
