The exhaust on my boat is half in the water and half out, what should I do if anything to prevent the water from freezing inside this area and cracking from the ice expanding? Im not sure if this is a problem or not but its a worry of mine!

You should be using a bubbler system under your boat or one that hangs off the dock and moves the water around your boat. This way the water near your hull will not freeze, at least that is the way it should work.

What RonB said. The only time I saw them fail was a winter it was so cold in NE you could have darn near walked from Warwick, RI to Newport. Even then, the damage to those who had the bubbler system was minimal.

Kida, I remember that one. I think it was 03. 9" of ice in my slip and yes, you could walk from Warwick cove to East Greenwich and damn near Newport.
