Lake Erie freezing over as we watch. It is going to ten below zero tonight. You can watch the change live on (Stone lab webcams). As of right now three of the cameras are running in real time and the freeze has been dramatic since yesterday when it was all open water. This is South Bass Island. AKA Put in Bay Ohio. It Is one of the top boating destinations in the USA.

Next thing you know it will be spring and the ice fishermen will be losing their pickup trucks as the ice melts. They will complain that the Coast Guard didn't save the trucks. Years ago a Coast Guard spokesman said, on TV, "We save lives, not pickup trucks." I love PIB. But it has been many years since I was there.
