Hi Folks,

It appears I may have a project this summer at the Lakehurst NAS. I was wondering for those of you that have local knowledge of the closest marinas, which ones I should check out. I have a new 35 express that I may live aboard. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Hey thanks Dominic. I checked that out after a google search revealed it's probably the closest. They don't have much of a website but it looks nice from what I can tell. Do you know if that's brackish or saltwater? I'll likely give them a call tomorrow to see if they have room this season.

thanks again,

brenden

It is pretty close to fresh that far up the river. Make sure there is a good coat of wax near the water line as you may get tannic acid stains (caused by the cedar trees upstream). Active marina on weekends, quiet during week. They have a pool. Liquor store and pizza just outside the property

Nice place and well cared for. Brian, the manager, is a very hands-on person and oversees most work around the place. We've been there for two seasons.

If you like it quiet, the slips furthest from the pool (S-slips)are good and they just put in a new bathroom & shower at that location as well. Parking on weekends can get a little tough in the other locations, especially on holiday weekends.

On most weekends, there's music, either live or piped in around the pool. Poolside bar with beer, wine & frozen drinks are also available on weekends.

Thanks all, I should be finding out if its a definite soon. Keeping fingers crossed that fuel prices don't go to crazy!
