It is the original series Lectra/San, manufactured during 1974 and 1975 - it's over 30 years old! You'll note that there's no Coast Guard Certification number on it - that's because it predates Coast Guard certification. You can't get parts for it; and there's no one still alive who knows how to repair it if something goes wrong with it. That being said, it appears to be brand-new, and the motors and electrodes can probably be salvaged from it (they're interchangeable with what's currently being used). But don't buy it, expecting to install and use it. It isn't certified, and WILL NOT be acceptable to a boarding officer.

Thanks Vic. I wasn't thinking of buying it, but I certainly do appreciate your looking out for us.

Wow, it's been read 10 times in less than 10 minutes - how's that for getting the word out?

If somebody wants to buy it for parts, and you can get it cheap enough, it might be well worth it. The electrodes these days, list for well over $300.00, and the motors list for around $165.00 each. So from that viewpoint, it might be worthwhile. I'm not wild about the $30.00 shipping charge, but I guess that's the way things are... Update: I looked up UPS/Ground charges to ship a Lectra/San coast to coast, and it came out to $28.00 and change - so I guess the $30.00 is reasonable after all.

Steer clear of this one, too! If you look closely at the sticker on the blue top, it was manufactured in April, 1977. It's 30 years old!
Back then it sold for $470.00 brand new - he's asking $650 for it. I wouldn't give more than 50 bucks for it, for parts. The control unit and timer inside the control unit have been discontinued since 1991 - no replacement parts available.
