Change of life style has me 90% sure that I will be moving aboard in the next few months.

What modifications have people done or would do to add "liveability" to your boat?

Anybody thought of a good way to access the compartments under the forward births?
Whats the best way to get more juice up to the forward birth. I have tried running cables behind the storage on the starboard side but don't get very far? Anybody have a trick?

Is there anyspace under the floor in the main cabin??

As you can tell I am looking for more space to store the "home" stuff. It would just be me on the boat and I am a minimalist for sure.

I was also looking into mod's to the aft cabin, perhaps a washer / dryer combo?

Throw out some ideas. Thanks.

Hello I love those boats. The boat next to mine
is the the 87 model (I think). I don't see the value or space for washer dryer combo in the aft cabin. IMHO the only place for a w/d would be to get a stackable one and place it where the full size fridge is. I have never lived aboard and each should have their own opinion but in mine I say do laundry at the marina or ashore save the space 4 something else.

Having lived on a Commodore 277Xl for three months, if you have the room I would recommend a washer & Dryer combo. You need to limit the amount of clothing that you have in your closet and a washer and dryer helps alot. I see you are in RI, what are you going to do in the winter months? Reverse Cycle heat does no work to well in cold water?

I am not sure what galley features the 36' has but a George Forman grill is a great addition to the boat. Not only grilling meats, but it does great as a toaster as well. Get it one size larger then you think, helps when you have guest.

If I think of anything else I will chime in.

Thanks for the tip on the Foreman grill, hadn't thought about that.

Our marina has a few liveaboards now in the water. Pawcatuck river is fresh water but it flows pretty fast. Marina has bubblers but no real ice this year. As for heat, this year I will do ceramic electric space heater and an electric blanket at night.

I won't be there much. Leave for work at 6:00. won't get back till 8:00. Lots of gym time coming my way, lol.
