I need some help. I am looking at a 1988 268DA and the price is right, but there ar some parts I may want to replace/fix. I'm wondering if there are any good places to get OEM replacement parts. Can you still get parts back to 1988? Sea Ray only provides the parts manual back to 1989, I think they are fairly similar boats though. Any help would be great.

Many of the companies that made parts back then are still in business, like Taylor and Perko. I'm sure most of the parts can either be found or substituted. An arch might be tough or a replacement swimstep, but those can be made if you want it to look like the original. What parts are you looking for?

Helm seat cushions, little sliding door above dinette, some of the side upholstered panels in the rear of the boat. Probably some more miscellaneous items when I dig into it further.

I have '87 340 da, and finding oem is near impossible for the parts you mentioned. The cockpit upolstery and the helm seats can be duplicated by a good upholstery shop, and I'm going to hand make the tambour doors above the dinette. Good luck with it, it's a lot of work but it's fun, too.

You might be able to get the doors from a later model. and an upholstery shop can do alot of vinyl work. I have having sections of my seats redone this next week, had new carpets last fall..plus new canvas bow frames.. You can have alot done without oem parts and stil have it look oem.

I think there was a guy parting one of those out on craigslist in the Baltimore area About a month ago.

I'm not 100% concerned with making it look OEM, was just curious if that was an option.

Thanks for the link. The price on the 88 that I'm looking at is good, but I can probably get one for a little more $$$ that needs alot less fix up. There are tons of them out there.

Yes its quite a popular boat. I have seen some mint condtions 268's go for real cheap. Keep looking.
