I heard this on the VHF Friday afternoon.

Man found dead on bay in Sandy Hook

SANDY HOOK - An unidentified male who was found unconscious and unresponsive by Park Rangers along the bay side of Sandy Hook Friday afternoon was flown by NYPD helicopter to the mouth of Sandy Hook where he was then transported by ambulance to Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, officials said.

The man, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of kin, was declared dead on arrival at the hospital, according to Brian Feeney, spokesman for the National Parks Service.

The man, who had come to the cove via a recreational boat, was found unconscious by park rangers and lifeguards on the Skeleton Hill Island section near Spermicetti Cove at approximately 2:30 p.m., Feeney said.

The man was then airlifted by an NYPD Air Unit to Hardshorne Road at the mouth of Sandy Hook where he was transferred to a Sea Bright EMS vehicle and then driven to Monmouth Medical, said Coast Guard spokesman Bill Weiss.

The man's death is possibly connected with a pre-existing medical condition, and Feeney said.

"It wasn't a swimming fatality," Feeney said."It was more to do with an existing medical condition."
