The manifold drain fittings, the ones on the bottom that allow incoming water and allow you to drain the manifolds, have a slow leak. The ones on the outside of the engines are fine, it's just the ones on the inside.

I assume the outside ones are ok as there is good access to them to tighten them. I can barely fit my hand between the two manifolds to get access to the interior ones.

The fittings are plastic. I am nervous about putting a wrench on them to tighten them for fear of cracking them. A dock mate recommeneded replacing them with stainless steel ones.

I can do this though this alone would not stop the leak IMHO.

What's the suggested way to install these, how does one get good access to them to tighten them and should I put some sort of plumbers tape or goo on the threads when I install them (reinstall the plastic ones or replace with stainless)?

Thanks
