Marinas in the Highlands...info

Planning on boating north, with a small flotilla, to the Highlands on August 8th thru 10th for the 15th Annual Clam Festival. Can anyone express their opinion on The Sandy Hook Bay Marina near the Rt 36 bridge? This appears to the within walking distance from the Festival. Opinions please!

My friend keep his boat there for the last few years. He's happy there. It's a small marina. Better make your reservation for a transient slip.

I agree with what Michael said; not sure if they typically take transients; but it seems that all marinas on the bay shore are empty this year so you probably have a good shot. I would also look at the Atlantic Highlands Municipal Harbor. There is a walking trail between the Highlands and Atlantic Highlands that might work out if you have bikes.
