Just joined your group; sounds like some real talent in this pond.
I just purchased (Ebay) a new GMC (or TargetMaster) long block crate engine with the following stamped suffix codes: 1M0628 - 4R34. Spent about a week researching on the internet, but couldn't find any information on the 4R34 part. However, there were several hints out there that lead me to believe they equate to 4=4 bolt, R=350, 34=GM 10134334 cam. The block casting number is 10243880(ZZ type roller cam installed)with head casting number 14102193 (12 bolt with swirl intake ports). It also had a metal sticky tag stamped with AR1136. Probably a catalogue number. Don't need a racer, just a solid fuel efficient replacement for an engine that blew up while cruising on Lake Powel. Can anybody verify these stamped codes? I need to know exactly what I have before I order a TBI kit to replace my Qjet system. Thanks for any help you can provide!
