She is a shark. Was off Jersey for a while.
This is a cool site.
She is tagged and has traveled alot.

Looks like she is south of Fire Island Inlet.

As a fisherman, I wonder if following her will lead you to fish?
 
The shark might lead you to seals. Once Great Whites get above about 1,000 pounds, their diet switches from primarily fish to primarily seals.
 
Fascinating, only hope I can get my boat in the water fast enough to get over to Fire Island inlet to maybe see Mary!
 
We were in our 13 foot dink when a huge hammerhead swam up to and dove right under us. You really don't want to be there. Trust me.

She's getting a lot of publicity on the morning news today. Just hope she doesn't get injured by a bunch of "yahoos" trying to get up close and personal...
 
Looks like she is heading south again away from Long Island.
 
Most fish as well as other sharks will generally move quickly away from Whites. As Dan points out you really do not want to be in close proximity to any sharks that are over maybe 4' long and this is way out of that limit.
We did a bunch of research on these and other sharks and they are often way to unpredictable despite what might be seen on TV.
Even with safety precautions watching sharks feed up close leaves you with an utter feeling of helplessness.
 
Play around with the tracking site a bit. It's pretty cool to see how far some of these sharks travel. It looks like one of them has crossed the Panama Canal!
 
Keep in mind that in order for it to register the shark has to surface. Then it draws a line between the current ping and the last ping. This line does not take into account land or other objects.
 
Understood, but unless one of them swam all the way around South America without surfacing, it went through the canal... This is a really cool site!
 
She's off Ocean City,MD this morning, and headed east. Not too far from the inlet.Probably sizing up some small boat for breakfast!
 
Looks like she might be in North Carolina...can't get the map up...
 
HA! I asked myself that as well. The poor kids got bit up pretty badly.
