Every builder has produced some not so good models, or had some not so good years. Meridian no more than others but unless you narrow down the size and years, this is probably as close to an intelligent response you will get.

I have owned my '06 Meridian 391SB for almost four years and it is a great boat. It is not in the same flashy category as an Azimut, Fairline or some of the other Euro-Italian boats but it made with many of the same components.
Mine has the Cummins engines and Onan genny and those boys are bullet proof, very easy to maintain and always crank without a whimper.
I had always been a fan of Regal boats but when we decided to move from an express cruise into a Sedan Bridge, we could not find another 40' model that compared to the space on a 391. The bridge is huge and the salon is very friendly. The Meridians are shallow-draft boats so they tend to roll more than a deeper boat. Since 2008, the Sea Ray SB and Meridian SB boats have been built in the same factory in Palm Coast Florida using the same components on both brands. The factory is easy to access for information and warranty follow-up has been good. Brunswick Marine owns many brands and they seem to have survived the rough marine economy and are now introducing new models in to the Sea Ray brand and have new models coming in two years for Meridian. Some of the older Meridians came straight from the Bayliner product line and when we spent a week this summer cruising in Vancouver, the Bayliner Pilot House models were very plentiful in marinas everywhere we cruised.
