Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you.

Praying for Health and Happiness to all, and a short winter and a an actual 2018 spring season.

Back to you too. Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year to all. Launch planned for approximately 139 days from now, but upcoming shoulder surgery and recovery may delay that. Stay safe, all, over this winter. Hy

Merry Christmas to you too.
Just calculated about 111 days to intended launch date. Goin to Italy from 3/26-4/8. Hoping to apply more wax below the rubrails, paint the bottom, replace zincs as soon as I get back and be in by 4/15.

Ouch, 111 days sounds way too long! Just got back from 3 weeks in Florida, so December was easy. I hope I can say the same about Jan/Feb.

Jeff, I passed by Rutherig late yesterday afternoon. They were gone, and the gates were closed. I’m going to try to swing by again either late tomorrow afternoon or sometime Saturday to take a look at your South Bay Strainer setup. I’m particularly interested in the Stbd motor and generator because they are so close together.

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas, now let's hope for a Happy New Year.

Jeff,
I stopped by there late yesterday afternoon. Gate was open but nobody was around. Everything was open in there but there was no car around so they must have gone to get coffee or run an errand. I did see a 410 while I was looking for the guys in the yard. It was right next to the fence. Not sure if it was yours or not, but I was able to see underneath it and get a look at the way the strainer on the starboard motor was mounted in relation to the one for the genny, and how the strainer for the AC was notched.
Thanks!
Hopefully this winter will go quickly. I’m missing my boat even more than I thought I would. Can’t wait to get back in the water.

I’m not sure if he has another 410 there. Mine has a zippered door in shrink wrap. Anyway, glad you saw one with the south bay strainers. Are you going to install them yourself? Should be an easy job, but what would you use in the screw holes? 4200, so you can remove and clean them?

The boat was against the fence.
I was mainly interested in the setup on the starboard motor and genny because of how close they are, and the strainer for the a/c because of how close it is to the flange for the through hull just in front of it.
The boat I looked at has the South Bay Strainer on the Stbd. motor and still has the stock round strainer for the genny and I think I’ll wind up with the same setup. I frequently pull the strainer baskets to clean them out during the season anyway so I’ll just keep a close eye on the one for the genny.
It had a South Bay strainer on the a/c and the forward flange on that strainer was notched to clear the flange in front of it. That looks like the only way to do it and it should work well as long as enough sealant is used on that forward edge where it has to be notched.
I’m going to get the South Bay strainers with the removable screens so I can take them out when I need to clean them.
Had the fixed screen type on my old boat and it was a pain in the neck to clean and clear the holes. I laid under the boat on my back every spring and drilled each and every one of those little holes out to make sure they were clear. That wasn’t fun.

I had the removable screens on my 2 engine strainers. Removed them; took them home and sand blasted them. Looked like the day I bought them; only way to go.

I didn’t know they had a removeable screen option. I normally check out and scrape any barnacles off my running gear late August. Is it easy to remove the screens while in water.

I believe they’re held in with screws so it probably would be hard to take them off in the water without losing the screws.
