Oil Pressure was adequate in both engines but not quite as good as I liked them to be after running 3500-4000 RPM's for sustained distances. I decided that they were both candidates for synthetic oil which keeps its viscosity under extended run times and heat build up such as race engines face. In changing them both over to Synthetic they both improved sustained running pressures by +10 PSI. The Carver went from about 30 to 40 and the other one went from 25 after running very hard hard to 45. The little boat also consumed a bit of oil and that has stopped. After seeing how well it worked on both boats I now use it in everything including our Motorhome. Due to run times in my small fleet I don't change oil as frequently as some would advise, however due to benefits of the synthetic and low hours each year I only change them every 3-4 years now and I don't use any during that time frame with the exception being the RV which is almost negligible. In our cars I change the synthetic every 7500 miles.
You should consider synthetic, it will reduce friction, increase engine life, may slightly improve GPH in fuel consumption, it should improve your oil PSI and it will cost more stimulating the economy for us as we aren't getting it from the Saudi's

I had to throw that one in for fun. I would bet that if you change over to synthetic your oil pressure will be between 45 and 50 PSI.
