So the boss gets back today and brings in a book showcasing the upcoming Marquis 88. HOLY SH!!. 88 feet long, 23 feet wide, up to 5 staterooms PLUS a huge crews quarters. The standard master is 280 sq ft...not sure how big the "Grand Master" is. It will be available with open and enclosed flybridges, and hull #1 will be complete in spring 2010. They aren't stopping at 88 either...more to come!

I've only seen artist renderings at this point, but it is gorgeous. you can tell it's a Marquis as it uses the same design language. The one picture I saw had the a 65 Marquis line drawing inside of the 88, and it is just dwarfed. Look for boats to over 100 feet from Marquis, they're doing the plant right now...on the water, in Green Bay. I 'll see if I can get some scans of the pics to post them...not sure if I'm allowed to yet.

LOL that sounds like quite a boat! However I wish Carver would spend some time and effort building a new 28 as opposed to an 88. But that's just me...

I can't wait to see the pics!!!

They've totally separated Marquis from Carver...different designers and all...they are working on some smaller, altho, not below 30' Carvers

Did someone say tough economy?

Obviously not.....or more likely the middle class is shrinking and/or over extending their credit.

That looks great Ram. I hope you, personally, sell a dozen this year!

Nice looking aggressive lines, kewl phallic symbol. Too bad I didn't have that boat when I was 24 but I'd be dead by now - where did I put my Lotto Ticket?

"they are working on some smaller, altho, not below 30' Carvers..."

Oh well, I'll guess I'll have to take what I can get...

That Marquis looks like quite a boat! How many do they expect to make in a year? About half a dozen or so???

Pete,
they haven't really said...it's still 2 years away, but with that big of a boat, you can bet it takes a while to build, so I'm guessing 10 to 15 per year

10 to 15 would actually be a pretty good sized production in a boat that big. I remember
Ocean Yachts used to brag about building half a dozen of their 66s per year...

Maybe the overseas sales make a difference - how many of these boats will end up in Dubai???

well...they do have alot of money over there...as long as it doesn't meet the fate the Marquis 55 did a year or so ago. They're building a new plant to build these in, so I'm thinking they will make it large enough to build a good quantity. It's not on the Pulaski campus, it's in Green Bay, right on the water

Those people in those little Wisconsin towns must be amazed that somebody has enough money to buy a boat like that. Especially the old timers who remember when "CarVer" built only wooden runabouts...
