Hi. Can anyone tell me what is the best route heading east from Moriches Bay to Ches Bay. This is by the coast gaurd station. I have been through there before but it has been a while and I am trying to avoid hitting a sand bar. I draw about two and half feet on my boat. Thank You

Check my previous postings on going through Moriches Bay. You CANNOT go straight through by the CG Station; it's shoaled over. Heading west, you need to take the east cut (head south at buoys 23/24), follow the green buoys around and out the west cut (turn left/west at buoy 15) and then follow the channel. Heading east, just reverse the detour. Turn south/right just before buoy 15 and follow the west cut/east cut around. The east and west cuts are well-marked. Good luck. Hy
