Muskrat Protection

Does anyone know of a guard or something that can be installed to protect the bellows against these critters.I have a 1900 2007 with a 4.3 gxi
Last year a boat was sunk on our beach. My mechanic tells me I may have the same problem soon as there is evidence of nibblings (is that a word). I am looking at a boat lift which will solve the problem but a guard would be a lot cheaper. Any advice would be appreciated as I am a novice stern drive owner.

No guards that I know of. Repost this in Ask the Captain and in the Engines, Electrical forums. They get a lot more readers and maybe someone will have an idea.

Put it on a lift. No more bottom painting and it will save your outdrive! Mine paid for itself in 4 years. Well worth the initial cost!
