I am launching my boat today. After weeks of sanding, painting, polishing, waxing, and various mechanical tasks, my new to me boat is going in the water. The weather has been beautiful for the past two weeks. Today they are predicting about 5 inches of rain and winds gusting to 25kts with the rest of the weekend looking like a bust. I am certain the cause of this stormy weather is that I am now launching! Sorry, just had to rant.

you Bass-tard ;-)
BTW: good luck on the launch & don't forget the drainplug

Sorry, but you can not claim this weather, as I must. My new to me boat has been at the dealer for 2 1/2 months waiting on repairs that were supposed to take 2 weeks. I am suposed to be picking her up this weekend and bringing her home from DE to Northern NJ. A 12 hour trip in the ocean. Along with the rain and winds, there are predictions for 6 to 9 foot seas. So, as you can see, this one is my fault.

Well I for one thank you both! I splashed the boat last Friday. But this weekend we have several social obligations including a graduation on Sunday. It would kill me not to be on the water if the weather was nice, but now it won't be so bad.

Now, if you have anything but sunny warmth planned for next weekend, we'll be having a little talk!

As a follow-up, I managed to get in on Friday. It was Pouring rain and gusting to 20knts. Despite foul weather gear, my wife and I looked like half-frozen drown rats. But we docked her in our slip on the first attempt and managed not to break anything. All in all a successful outing. Here's hoping for sunshine and warmth this coming weekend.

We tried to get in a week ahead this year and launched 2 weeks ago and it has been miserable every single time we've been on the boat, of COURSE!

No, its my fault and I apologize to the weather Gods and pray that every weekend is sunny all summer, there, I said it!
