I know the directions say to apply a think coat, but for those that have used it what is your view of a thin coat?

Also, how long do you let it sit before you start buffing?

I apply a thin coat with a foam applicator then start to buff right away. You don't want to wait for it to dry.

I brush on a thin coat with a firm paint brush. spreading it over the area of interest until the brush yields no more material. then your buffer will do the rest of the work for me until all I have left is shine.

Thin coat. Just enough to coat the area you are working on. 2+ foot square area.

fize, if you are having trouble figuring out a "thin coat" keep a small spray bottle of detailer spray with you and just mist the area you are working, like Jonathan said 2 ft square, and it will be workable. If it gets hard to take off mist the surface and it should just wipe clean, shiny and dry. Try to get a waffle weave microfiber towel to remove the haze or a good cotton terry cloth towel. If you use a cotton towel make sure it is 100% cotton, otherwise it will be some percentage polyester which will eventually leave slight scratches.

+1, agree with all of the responses...I used a throw away paint brush to apply.
