Well, today was the culmination of about 2 solid months of non-stop boat shopping. I looked at more boats than i can remember until finding this boat. it was with much excitement this evening when the boat was finally delivered to my marina! It was actually ready this past Friday but wife and i went down to Florida for a few days to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary and today was the first day back. Anyway, I am very excited about my "new" boat...a 2003 model year Cruisers Yachts, Inc. 3372. She has twin volvo I/O 5.7's with 55 hours and a 7.3 KW Kohler generator with 99 hours. She is, at least in my opinion, pretty as can be. The dealer took it in on trade last year and finally wanted to move it off the lot. They sold it so low i couldn't see how they could be making any money and was afraid their customer service would be lacking due to the price we landed on. However, their customer service has been EXCELLENT and in fact it has been really amazing. I had a full survey done and she came back with a couple of minor issues, of which the dealer corrected all of them. They also filled up the 232 gallon (or is it 240??) gas tank and to my amazement today, at closing, the business manager threw in at no cost to me an extended warrantee on the boat that is good until August of 2009 thhat covers everything on the boat except for the engines (which are still under factory warranttee until end of this summer). Evidently the business manager's rating or compensation is set up such that it is to his advantage to make sure i have a warrantee. When i declined to pay the $5k quoted to me for the warrantee he threw it in for free at the last second!!! How cool is that??!! They also threw in a complete new set of G5 fenders w/ new fender lines, two sets of dock lines (4 lines each...one "fancy" set and one basic set), coast guard kit of life jackets, type IV throwable cushion, boat pole/hook, signal flare set, and a first aid kit. Heck...i had to remind myself this was a used boat and not a new one b/c it certainly looks like new and they most definitely treated me like a new boat buyer! This dealership has absolutely won my respect and if their follow through is as good as their work up until closing, they have most definitely won my loyalty. I met a lot of other dealers before buying this boat and i can most definitely say none of them treated me like this dealer!!!
Anyway, attached are the pics of my new baby being delivered. She was at their store on the other side of the lake from me (an hour away), so they delivered her to my marina by water today.
My first sight of her coming in:
All cozy in her new home....
Cabin where the pizza party with wife and kids was going to be occurring as soon as they arrived momentarily....
A little "Bob the Builder" after the pizza party for my boy:
We basically spent the evening on the boat and just got back in about 45 minutes ago. We are looking forward to spending a lot of time together on the boat and we are looking forward to creating lots of good memories.
Special thanks again to RadioJ here at boatered.com who offered a lot of direct insight into the 3372!
Oh yes...Her new name is going to be "Sunshine DayDream." I should have it on the boat within the next couple of weeks.... Until then is a photoshop of how i will have it look (already posted elsewhere so sorry for the repost!)
