After searching everywhere for the source of water in my aft bilge I finally succumbed and removed the shower sump. Originally I thought the source of the water might have bee overflow because it used one of those rule switches that stick after a while. I never liked that the sump had no top but after removing it from an impossible location I discovered the was a poor design. It looks like a Tupperware tub mounted on a shorter black plastic bottom tub. The problem is that the inlet hose fittings were drilled through both the tub and the bottom piece with sealant in-between the two. IMO it was guaranteed to leak as the polyethylene tub is the type of plastic that nothing sticks to, ever. Water in the bottom tub convinced me that the inlet seal has leaked.
I am replacing it with a new sump kit that has a lid.
