Ok let me thank you guys and girls in advance for all the good help!

Here is the situation:

Purchased a new to me 2001 Larson 254 Cabrio.

Anchor seemed fine during the survey asside from the metal wire holding the shackle to the chain. My surveyor called the situation a horror show. Now I need to correct it and make all well. So I am posting a bunch of pictures.

The boat is a 26 foot boat.

It has a windlass and the anchor when being lifted has a very hard time going up through the roller. It almost seems that the anchor roller is a piece of junk and is to small and not sturdy enough for the size of anchor on the boat. I am incapable of using the cockpit windlass control to get the anchor up due to the danger of the anchor getting stuck or not going in straight. (It tries to go in sideways.) The rode is made up of 8 feet of chain then the rest being rope.

The other problem is the roller does not release the anchor if I lower the windlass. So again to drop the anchor I have to climb to the tip and kick it a little to get it off then lower it with the windlass. Does this seem right?

The end of the roller seems as you can see in the picture to be bent to the left.

Is it hard to install a new roller. It has three bolts are there nuts on the other side of the fiberglass. Should I be able to find just another bolt on piece? Anyone else deal with this??

Currently to take some stress of the windlass when riding I just took a bungee lol and went from the chain to a cleat as you can see. I know this is not "right". Can you let me know what should be done? Or is this a easy way to do it?

The whole point I was thinking of having cockpit controls it to do everything from there if you need your hands on the wheel!

Thanks again... let me know what you guys and girls think.
