Hi Folks,
I may be the proud owner of a 98 355 Carver ACMY. After much deliberation and repairs I have a verbal agreement with the owner on a sale. The formal written agreement is being drawn up.
I will share my experiences with this 3 month purchase and survey on another thread.

I do have a couple of questions that you guys may be able to answer. First the dodger boards on the sun deck (the plastic or star board wind breakers)has an aluminum corner piece thats missing. It's the corner piece that connects the rear dodger board above the transom to the piece that runs forward on the port side. It appears that this aluminum piece has channels in it that the pieces from the rear and side slide into it. Does anyone know were to get a replacement or perhaps how to fashion a replacement. This is important because it adds strength and rigidity to the whole assembly and needs to be installed.

Second, I have Cummins diesels and would like to install an oil change system. Can anyone recommend a pump and the associated hardware to do this. The system I'm referring to is a system that plumbs oil drain lines to the oil pan drain screw on each engine and generator and then to a DC pump with associated valves to allow easy oil removal from both engines and genset.

Thanks everyone,
Tim

Hi Tim..On the first question:

The aft deck "weatherboards" are made of white plexiglass and the corners are made by Carver specifically for each model boat they are used on. Luckily (as of 6 months ago) they are still available from Carver through a dealer. We (Carver dealer near Cleveland Ohio)just sold a pair for a 1996 355, along with the complete set of weatherboards.

Second question:

I believe that Carver would ahve used "X-Changer" brand oil change system in that model year which would come with an attached manifold of valves for all three engines. I don't know what fitting would be required to thread into the oil pan drain plug hole, but if you enpty the oil and take them with you to a hardware or auto parts store, I'm sure they could get you the correct parts...along with enough hose to complete the installation.

Thanks, I'll look into the X-Changer.

Do you know who a Carver dealer in the Tampa Bay area would be.

Thanks,
Tim
