We are continuing improvements to the 40' Silverton Wifey and I purchased last year. She is now all excited to start looking at carpet to replace what is presently on board.
But what bothers me is the boats I have seen with carpet don't appear to have padding. Is there a reason other than cost for not using padding under interior carpeting? I think I recall reading comments such as "no padding" but no explainations were given.
