NEW IPS Drives 750 and 850

Just read in Boat Digest that VP is coming out with two new IPS drives a 750 with the D9 and 575 hp and the 850 which will use the new D11 670hp engine. Both IPS drives are also stronger then the old ones.
The will have future tests of the IPS750 in an Azimut 50 and the IPS850 in an Atlantis 55.

So I hope Regal has enough room left in the 5260 engine room to offer a beefier engine package.

I have no comment regarding those engine packages, but I must say that I've just read my first Boat Digest mag, and I find it to be much more informative than most boating magazines.

I agree Dominic. It would be really nice to get a 30+ cruise speed on the 5260.

I would think that a 52’ boat at 30K lbs with 1340hp should cruise above 30 knots with strait or V-drives, with IPS it should be 35knots or better
A late model Cruisers 52 with D12’s and at 42K lbs cruises at 30 Knots
He!!, at 50’ and 50K LBS with 1320HP, I can cruise at 25 -26 knots if I want to burn the fuel

It is good to see the drive annd boat companies using technology to help bring some pain off the pump. I think the cheap gas days are long gone.
