I do not normally create websites commercially, but this turned out so well I feel like bragging sharing:

http://www.innerharboreast.net/

No "stock" photography was used. Paul, one off the dock hands, took all the arial shots from the Legg Mason building (and they're fantastic shots). My brother-n-law took the ground level and inside shots. Baltimore and fireworks never looked so good!

Not bad. Would be nice if it filled the screen and the duelling photos are hard to folow.

And the rates are outrageous. $80 a night for my 26 footer is seaway robbery!

Paul,

Rates are what they are for the area. Try Annapolis or St. Michaels and you'll be paying as much if not more. It's all about supply & demand and what the local economy will bare. For my 30 footer I've paid as much as $150/night in West End to as little as $45/night on Green Turtle. Funny how the highest and lowest I've paid were both in the Bahamas. But then again, anchoring is free!

I'll think about doing something else with the photo gallery. That was the last thing I added.

very nice job. some more info on the locations of the attractions will be nice.

If you are not a web designer how did you do it??

I'm usually very "graphically" challenged. But I did design my own company's website years ago:

http://www.voiceover.com

As well as create our secure online store from scratch:

http://www.voiceoverstore.com

But for the marina, I wanted to use Flash and found http://www.wix.com

It's amazingly easy. I just created the basic website and now the marina staff can add to it, change it, or do what they want. There's a free service that uses the wix.com URL. For less than $10/month the ads go away and a custom URL can be used. That's not bad for hosting alone, and for their design tools I think it's a really good deal.

Kurt, I suppose you're right. I've never paid that much tho at any of the marinas I stayed in from FL to NC. Still cheaper than a motel....

I did like the photos you put on the site. Just didnt like the way they changed randomly.

Nice job & thanks again, Kurt.

(I still don't have the nerve to edit it yet.)

C'mon Wes, there's always that "undo" button!

Paul, I'll let Wes mess with the photo albums. I was just tossing something together to get it up an running. The pictures are quite nice and I'm sure a better job can be done laying them out. Who knows, perhaps Wes will have some "hurricane Earl" photos to add to the mix soon? :-)

Saw this post Saturday. We stayed ay Inner Harbor East Sat night. Coincidence? No.

Great marina, we stay there every time we go to Charm city.

Kurt, I liked the pictures and thought the site was very good. Let's see what Wes can do. Maybe OBX can provide some Earl photos

Next time you come in look me up. I always like to keep track of the BoaterEd crowd.
