Newport to ACK

How long does it take to get from Newport to Nantucket? I know the area very well but this is the first season with a power boat. It goes much faster than my old Benetau! Let's say we average 16 knts. Thanks !

it's around 70NM from Newport to Nantucket... shoudl be 4 to 4 1/2 hours at 16kts.

Not sure what kind of boat you have and not sure of Pascal's route. But you don't typically take a straight shot but rather go up Vineyard sound and around MV to avoid shoals and some pretty open water.

Pascal's route was up Vineyard Sound around Martha's Vineyard.

I've done this trip several times at that speed, 4 1/2 hours is close but only if you catch the tide on Vineyard sound to push you along at better than 16kts. I would plan on 5 hours.
