Thinking about moving my boat (33 ft cruiser, cruises rb2@gr5t ~24k) from NN or Virginia Beach to Cape May over the course of a weekend (trying to get the boat home).
I would be sticking near the coast.
Since I'm new at this, any words of caution? Probably less crowded than the Bay, but too rough?Should I just stick to the Bay/C&D route?

thanks

As iffy as weather has been I'd play it safe and stay inside at least to Cape May. Not too many places to duck and hide along the MD/DE coastline if necessary.

As Mike mentioned,,not many places to hide along there. A weekend would be not a problem for that run. I run from Annapolis to Cape May in a day.

If the weather is good and forecast to hold you can take the direct route but as others mentioned there are few places to come in

Running up the bay to the CD and back down only adds about 50 or 60nm, that s the route i always take. You acn easily do VA beach - annapolis then onto CM the next day
