Night Vision Binoculars

Does any one have any experiance with night vision binoculars or monoculars?

I am finding myself out more in the evening in a highly congested area and was wondering if night vision would be a benifit.

Also, is there a big differance in performance and quaility between the ITT models and the russian ones I see offered on the web?
