I think I have the codes right for this, do not have the machine right on front of me So I could be wrong, anyway...

I have a Furuno GP7000 which talks in NMEA 0183 language. I have seen a product from Bennet that talks in NMEA 2000 language to display trim tab position to a gps chartplotter display or the like.

Is there any way to convert one to the other so I could use this device? I have bennet tabs(factory installed) and the furuno which is fairly new. So if I could get them to talk that would be great. Not sure why Furuno is not using the newest language ( or whatever you call it) on their newer units.

The Bennett NMEA 2000 is not downward compatible. Unfortunately, too many GPS manufacturers resisted the change to NMEA 2000 and, as a result, there is now a significant compatibilty problem out there.
