Here we go again. While messing around with an oil change and learning how the hatch works, I removed the deck carpet. I had to cut away a few small areas of backing to release it. Other than the missing rubber bits on the back it appears to be in good shape. It is now in the garage draped over the ironing board drying after a good cleaning. THE ADMIRAL is not amused. Oh well.
Here is my plan. I am going to use some spray glue and some of the rubbery shelf liner sold in marina and hardware stores to fill the voids left in the carpet backing. Or is there a better filler I can use. Something to keep moisture from going into the carpet fiber?
Is that a good plan???? I read that soaking the remaining bits of carpet stuck to the deck with mineral oil will make it easier to remove them.
Please share your thoughts and suggestions. Thank you, JS
