While winterizing I suggest spraying your engines metal parts with an anti corrosion spray after cleaning and drying them. CorrosionPro is my favorite and other folks like boesheild. I don't like CRC anti-corrosion spray because it yellows. These sprays are different from WD 40 in that they dry to a long lasting coating that keeps water off metal and reduces corrosion. I wish I had known about this stuff when my boat was new because it will keep stuff in the ER looking almost new. NB these sprays are insulators when dry so coat electrical connections only after they are clean and tight. As with any aerosol spray they are flammable when airborne so don't use near sparks or other ignition sources or breathe the stuff.
