Outdrives have never looked better

Recent repairs over the last two months include:
1. Port carb rebuild
2. Water extraced from fuel tank
3. New port shift cables
4. New shifters
5. Outdrives sanded, painted and zinced

Yes the question is for how long will they look new :) I think the paint companies may do a good job on paint for outdrives that are left in salt water but for fresh brackish water I cant find a paint that stands up well. I Redid mine in 2008 and by 2010 they look like crap again.
 
Most folks don't put it on the hard unless a major repair was needed, so why is it on the hard?
 
major repair included replacement of shifters and lower shift cable. To replace lower shift cable it had to get hauled and drive removed. While it was out their quote for bottom paint was too high but I was able to afford drive paint and they needed to be done. ANother problem has arisen though. Exhaust smell from port engine.
