Has anyone used ozone generators or the bilgebuster with success? I am considering one despite all of my cleaning it does have that old boat odor and it gets in everything including the clothes and food.
I have two one for the dirt dwelling, one for the boat.
The DD units runs 24/7 at a very low setting, the boat unit runs once in a while when I am on board.
I have a three ozone machines on my boat.. all small ones but the bilge one is bigger.. I crank it up for around 12 hours and then must air the boat out a bit becasue the ozone is pretty strong.. Up-side is the odor is down. I have not noticed any oxidation of hoses in three years. Technically I think only organic material is at risk ( rubber ). PVC and vynl bases hoses should not have problems.. The two in the cabins are UV ozone makes from dometic. These do a nice job with freshness but arent to strong.. The one in the bilge is an adjustable ozone maker I got off ebay for a couple hundred.. Its a bit more industrial..
aridbilge.com seems to have an interesting product for keeping the bilges dry. Don't know if any one has tried or looked at these? They seem pricey, but look effective.
OK, would love to hear from anyone who has or tried one one of these arid bilge things to see if this works. Looks like a fancier bilge pump, but not sure.
