Pinging Pascal

Thanks... i posted in the irma thread. Fine i guess... my hatteras has some rubrail damage, all the way thru the glass in a couple of spots despite all the lines but the slip is too narrow. I m lucky compard to others... there are dozens of sunk, wrecked or missing boats in coconut grove. Even large sport fishers and a few MY in teh 60-90 range

I m still in eleuthera on the lazzara 84 i captain. Early on i had planned on taking the boat to the west coast but ended up heading east on thursday night after watching the nhc move the forecst west all day thrusday. We were 200nm from miami and 280 nm from th storm so never got more than 30 kts and no rain...

Heading back to miami tomorrow with a stop for fuel in nassau as it may be a while till we get shore power and fuel as the fuel docks were damaged

I ve been looking at pictures of te area on line and the damage to boats is incrdible, the worst since andrew 92. Wilma and katrina in 05 were nothing comapred to this

Watch for floating debris on run on.
Sunken boats are not marked yet.

Our prayers are with you and all the others affected by Irma. Stay safe. Hy

Where do you come to that you feel safe knowing what's under the water?

I figure uo the gulf stream it will be clear... by wed mmorning i think most debris will be gone in the stream then in biscayne bay i m going to take slow and easy...

Glad to hear good news from you, Pascal, and good news trickling in from some of our other members. Lord Willing there'll be many more! We have good reports on the area around our home, bad reports about parts of Jacksonville. Nothing yet about marinas.

JD hope that all is well with you. OK over here.

Thanks, Bru!

I'll post update when we get back. Just glad the prelim reports are good. Learned yesterday PM that power was restored after being out about 14 hours. I have the boat topped out on the lift, and neighbor sent a pic showing that was high enough and the lift motors didn't submerge.
