please advise new 260 dancer ,270AJ and power

I traded down from a '02 32 regal to a '06 240 sundancer last year because I wanted to simplify. I went a bit too small. I'm looking '07-08 260 sundancer and possibly a 270 AJ. Marine max only brings the 260 in with 350mags. I don't want to special order because there is about a 12k differential with a 6.2.(because of the engine price differential and the in stock savings on a mag) My 240 mag350 performs well but is no barn burner. Will the 260 mag 350 be a slug? it seems that the 270 AJ has the 6.2 standard. My wife prefers the 260 layout. I kind of like the 270 cockpit layout even though I'm not a big fisherman

I have a 2002 Four Winns 268 Vista Cruiser for sale with a Volvo Penta 8.1 Gi, 375 horses. Perfect engine for a 26 foot cruiser in my opinion. Boat is absolutely mint and needs nothing. My 260 has the 350 mag. A comfortable cruising speed is about 26-28 mph (measured by gps) which equates to 3800-3900 RPM. The fuel burn is roughly 2 mpg at that speed. Top speed with fuel water and two people on board is about 38 mph.
