I have a 88 searay sundancer. I can not get the tank pumped out. I am 99% sure I have the handles right. I have the handle part following the flow out the boat. Still no go! . . but when I take off the cap to the pump out hose, and fill it up with water and turn on the macerator it works. I can see bubbles come from under the boat. So that would tell me the valves are correct. It also tells me the maceraotr is working at leaset when I prime it. So what the heck is wrong. What do I replace?

I believe that the valve to discharge through the bottom of the boat should be closed during pumpout otherwise if the macerator impeller is worn you may be getting raw water instead of holding tank. Just a guess.

Y-valve may be broke. Happened on mine. I just removed the y-valve and hooked the tank discharge straight to the pump out fitting since I can't use overboard discharge anyway. The flap inside the valve had come loose from the selector lever and fell into the overboard discharge side.

Be sure the vent line from the tank isn't plugged up. If air can't come into the tank, it can't be pumped out.
