quick question about fishing in jers

i took the online boater saftey course and got my card here in pa because i heard you need to to boat in jersey. but now i have heard the online course is not acceptable. is any of this true? do i even need my card? i am coming to loveladies from sept 22- oct 6 and plan to fish every day so i'd like to not get in trouble.
