My slider has become so difficult to slide that it takes 2 hands and some real pulling to open.
It feels like the wheels are worn off.
I have treated the slider area with WD 40 and lithium but to no avail. I can't see any adjustments and have tried to lift the door off the runner but it won't budge. Any suggestions ?

The slides on the bottom and top of the door are adjustable. You need an allen wrench and patience. I also used long q tips made with wood sticks and cleaned the track with alcohol to remove the build up of grease and gunk...I also learned not to use grease or WD-40 as they collect dirt. I found a product called Jig-a-loo that works very well and keeps the door sliding. I use this on the sliding salon windows as well.

I had already cleaned the track with hopes that would solve the problem but no luck. Can you be more specific on the location of the allen adjustment screws? I have looked everywhere on the sides and along the bottom edge.
Any info is appreciated.

there is usually a piece of metal screwed into the top track, that keeps you from lifting the door out of the track for repairs. look cosely at the end for a screw, that will allow you to slide out the spacer than you caan lift the door. This is put there so the bad guys cant just lift the door out of the track to break in. After removing the door and inspecting the rollers you"ll have a better handle on whats really going on.

OK I admit I had to ask my mechanic but heres the answer. Along the bottom slider on the outside of the door there are several screws holding the bottom slider and subsequently the bottom of the door in place. He advised me to remove the screws and then to score the seem along the slider with a razor knife and the door should lift out slider and all. You then remove the slide portion and supposedly you can service the wheel mechanism. Its going to be too hot this weekend but hopefully next week I'll try this out.

Thanks for the replies.

you need to replace the rollers.
I have a 1984 34 Sedan and I just replaced the rollers. I had to take them off and match them up at a local caster place. Not hard to do.
