Thinking about a weekend away and going to Red Bank. Molly Pitcher or Irwins?
 
Red Bank as in Monmouth County? I never thought of it as a boating city?

Go to the Channel Club. Newly rebuilt very nice. Beach is close, they will drive you there and to town.

Tiki bar is also hopping.
 
Molly Pitcher works better for us with a short walk to town and all it offers. Generally much more quiet than the CC which has a tendency to have a pool loaded with kids. However, Captain Micky, if he is still the dockmaster at MP, will do everything he can to make you feel as though he has done you a great favor to find a spot for your boat. They have limited slips so a reservation is required. We used to hit the MP and then the CC on the same trip.
 
We go over the MP each year(family and friend are in the area and I'd rather spend 1.5 hrs on the boat vs. 2hrs on the SI expressway)and have never had a problem, the staff is friendly and has always been helpful. It is a good location, the town of Red Bank is nice with many restaruants and shops within walking distance. Never tried the CC but ironically bought a bunch of used PWC floats from them last month. Could be a good stop while in the area, close to the beach but not sure if public access to the ocean is nearby - looked like mostly private beach clubs when I drove through.

We will probably be there some time in mid August for a few days - when were you planning to go?
 
The beach by the CC is public, it's a few blocks, but an easy walk.

A little background. We have been to the Channel Club a few years ago and liked it but are looking for someplace new. We heard that MP and Irwins are close to restaurants and have a pool. We live at the beach so that isn't a big deal for us. Basically want to be able to walk to food and veg out the rest of the time. :)
 
I would say MP over the CC then. It's a little walk, you can measure it to see if it works for you. Irwin might be closer but I think that is right by a hospital and does not have a pool. As I recall sirens are noticeable there. We could hear them from MP. Besides, if you want beach, I would rent a car and drive up to the Federal Park on the hook.
 
We just spent a night at Molly Pitcher on Sunday 7/28/13. They are replacing docks after Sandy, so not as much dockage as there will be when complete. Nice pool. Be aware of the no pet policy. Long slog up the Navasink, mostly no wake. <10 min. walk to town.
