Help please,I've just imported a 2002 Regal 2465 from the US. The boat had been left in a winterized state. The fresh water system was drained and the connectors to the water pump in the forward cabin (under the V berth) were disconnected as were the ones into the water heater in the engine bay. I've connected up all of these hoses filled the water tank and all seemed fine. Until I put the boat on a slipway to launch it and water started pouring into the engine bay from under the fuel tank. The entire fresh water system drained in this way.

I checked all the hoses I could see and I couldn't find a leak. I even took the fridge out to check it if was leaking from under the fridge.

I've launched the boat but I do not have any fresh water. Can anyone one make any recommendations?
I cannot find any leaks any ideas?

Does the water remain in the tank until you launch the boat? If you have eliminated lines, faucets, etc. you may have suffered a ruptured tank during winter freeze. Double check the lines, refill and have someone help you look in the area of the tank in an attempt to see where the water is exiting the tank.

Tank in front of v-berth. The leak is most likely at the water lines that run on the port side to the head. They are just below the matress running on the port side. if not that maybe the sink in the cockpit, but I'am sure its the line on the port, lift matress up and you should see them.

The 2465 hull has 4 compartments. Under the V berth first, then under the head/kitchen, under the fuel tank (under aft berth) and the engine room. Can you tell us which one are 'humid', that could be an indication of where the leak could be. You get access to every compartment easily , except for the fuel tank one.

I had a cockpit faucett leak last year and there was a lot of water coming out this concealed aera into the head pump compartment.

Are you sure your water tank is completly emty? Does the water pump turn continuously when switch is ON?

If there is water everywhere then I'll look under the V berth aera and check for leak at the water intake filter of the water pump. Check if it is well tightened (the clear part on the left of the pump on this picture ):

Concerning a water tank leak, it is strange you didn't notice a problem when initialy pouring water in it ( the leak only appeared when setting your boat 'nose up' on the slipway).

Another way to investigate for your leak is to put a plug in every interconnecting holes at the bottom of the hull and see which compartment gets water...

Unfortunately, no archive. The former RBOC. had an article on a similar problem. The problem was a leak in the tank at the point (I think it's a molded in elbow) where the hose attached to the tank. He fixed it with parts from a hardware store.

Thanks for all the replies. I filled the tank just prior to launching and only noticed the water in the rear (engine) bilge as it was pouring in from under the fuel tank. I did however notice that the bilge with the shower pump (i.e. at the bottom of the stairs near the bunk), it appeared to be filling up. the small bilge in the bow (under the V berth)was bone dry. I'll keep looking ;-(

Thanks again
Patrick
