Mine is shot.
Fabric is all good.
Gonna go with Strata glass except the 2 big curved panels on the front.
Was thinking of using EZ2CY there.
Anyone have this?

PS. Back panel I am using plain non-stratta becuase it gets too much sun and won't last no matter what you do. I never open it so as long as I don't scratch it, it will be fine and if it gives me another 3 years then it will be fine.
 
Dave,

I used Makrolon for the center front panel which when open zips and velcros onto the bimini top (this material can not be rolled). The panel is 3 years old and is in perfect condition and requires no special care. When the 2 curved panels need replacing, I will do them in the same material.
An advantage of Makrolon vs EZ2CY is that it can be sewn to the canvas where EZ2CY must be bonded, thereby lowering the cost.

What did you use for sides and back?

Do you recall the cost?
 
The remaining pieces are Strataglass 40 gauge sheet panels. The sides held up very well and are 6 years old, where the 2 front curved panels are beginning to lose clarity. The aft curtain is very rarely used and is in poor condition and will be replaced this year.

Sounds like the same as I am doing but hard on 2 fronts.
I am have to see about the middle panel.
Tony didn't seem fond of the attach to bimini idea.
Aft curtain stinks in design. I thought about going half way up with sunbrella then just a hard window, since I rarely look through it, but Tony talked me out of that.
I wonder if there was a way to cover it to get it out of the sun, then remove the cover when underway.
 
I have been attaching the front window to the bimini top for 6 years and have never had a problem.
Tony stiched a zipper to the top as well as heavy duty velcro along with 2 snaps that are attached to a support pole.
 
Do you take your canvas down for winter?
How do you store it and where?
Issue I find is taking it up and down is when it gets scratched the most.
If I had a hard top I would leave it up.
 
I take it down each winter and am still on the original bimini top. I take the bimini home over the winter to wash and treat.
I convert the salon sofa to a bed and place all clear panels there with sheets between them.
 
I like that idea about the salon. I usually take it all home to clean but that means rolling it to get in truck, which kills it.

I just spoke with Tony, I am gonna skip the center panel and do the 2 sides.
Reasoning is this. I always open it, so I am not looking through it anyway.
To add this panel, I would have to take the whole top down, plus with the cost of all the other work, I am getting into some big bucks.
So I will not do the center this time around.
But I am doing the 2 sides.
Hope I don't regret that decision, but if I do, it's not like I wasted alot of money on the center piece and I can change it down the road.
