Greg,

I have a 2001 3780 and purchased it new with the same engine configuration.
I normally cruise at 3200rpm at 21mph with a burn rate of 25-28gph combined (not based on scanners). The sweet spot for this boat is between 25-28mph for best ride, but I don't do this as often as I used to as I am approaching 700hrs on engines.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

Good Luck,

Gary

700 hours? It's not going to hurt them running them up at that speed.

28mph = 4100rpm
WOT = 4800rpm

Gas engines will last alot longer if not run at 85% Max Rpm.

I am not a fan of the isinglass that runs along the bottom on the port and starboard sides and really do not understands it's purpose. I am thinking of replacing this with canvas.

Any thoughts on this?

Sounds like a good idea to me.

I still don't understand why Regal choose to use such thin isinglass on the sides. The front is much heavier and lasts longer as well.
